Fake news: Kanimozhi seeks action
DMK executive committee member R J Selvanayagam on Tuesday submitted a petition to the Chennai Police Commissionerate seeking action against the perpetrators who spread false news and hatred against Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi online.

The petitioner said that a few persons have posting forged images of statements claiming that they were made by Kanimozhi. “The images have been designed to make it look like screenshots of her tweets, though Kanimozhi has never tweeted in a while,” said the petitioner. One of the images read, “Religious leaders need not visit my father at the hospital. I dumped the temple offerings given by [Indu Makkal Katchi leader] Arjun Sampath into a dustbin.”
Images were posted by the Twitter handle Suresh Hindu and has been shared by others. Supporting documents have been submitted to the commissioner.
