Apollo rooms used by Jayalalithaa examined by Commission
Lawyers of the Justice A Arumughaswamy enquiry commission and VK Sasikala’s counsel conducted an examination of the rooms used by Jayalalithaa during her treatment at Apollo Hospitals.

Lawyers Niranjan and Parthasarathy of the oneman enquiry commission probing the death of former CM Jayalalithaa and two lawyers from the Sasikala camp examined the around ten rooms used by Jayalalithaa during her hospitalisation.
The visit took place between 7 pm to 7.45 pm on Sunday.Room number 2008, the Critical Care Unit, rooms used by Sasikala and ministers over the course of the then Chief Minister’s hospitalisation, the room where the embalming took place were some of the locations that the team visited as part of the enquiry.
Heavy police protection was in place for the visit.In response to the petition by J Deepa, Jayalalithaa’s niece, to allow her lawyers to be part of the visit as she is a kind of Jayalalithaa, the Commission granted permission to her and her lawyers to visit Room 2008 between 8.20pm and 8.45pm.
Notably, the petition was objected to by the Sasikala camp. The Arumughasamy enquiry commission has also offered Apollo Hospitals compensation in case of any loss of revenue due to the visit. Jayalalithaa spent 75 days at the hospital following her admission on September 22, 2016 after taking ill at her residence in Poes Garden.She passed away on December 5, 2016. The commission is set to submit its final report on October 24.Over 50 individuals have deposed before the one-man commission so far.
