Missing from duty: 5 teachers suspended
Tiruvannamalai Chief Educational Officer (CEO) V Jayakumar suspended two higher secondary teachers at Thanipadi on Thursday on charges of dereliction of duty.

Also, three other teachers were suspended in the last two days at Chengam and Tiruvannamalai.
Jayakumar said, “Action is initiated based on complaints from students and school heads.”
“The Thanipadi teachers were suspended for dereliction of duty as they were always away on association-related work,” he said.The CEO added that the suspended teachers would not get their ‘performance related increment’, but would be given their DA.
