Deepa had filed a petition on July 20 stating that as the living heir of Jayalalithaa she be made part of the proceedings and have her lawyers accompany Sasikala’s counsel and that of Justice A Arumughaswamy Enquiry Commission during the visit to Apollo Hospitals later this month.

The Commission probing the death of former CM Jayalalithaa heard Deepa’s petition at Kalas Mahal and objections to include her as part of the proceedings were raised by the Sasikala camp stating that she was a third party with no involvement in the issue.

The Commission will continue the hearing on Friday. Meanwhile, Apollo Hospitals general physician Dr JR Subramanian appeared before the Commission on Thursday. He was asked about the treatment provided to Jayalalithaa for fever and dehydration and the possible causes behind the conditions. The Commission is set to submit its final report on October 24 this year. Over 50 individuals have deposed before the oneman Commission so far.
