MBBS counselling: TN urged to act fast
As the process of the MBBS counselling continues to hang in balance, members of Tech for All, an organisation that trained students to prepare for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), came together to urge the state to form a committee to come up with a solution.

Recalling the reason to put the counselling on hold, Bhuvanesh of Tech for All said, “As there were errors in 49 questions, the High Court had mandated that the students who wrote their exams in Tamil should be granted 196 grace marks. After that, the second phase of counselling has not been held.” As the Judges had asked the state and the CBSE to come up with a solution by August 7, the state has to take steps immediately, he stressed.
“A committee must be formed and discussions must be held until a solution is found. Therefore, all political parties, administrators, educationists and the like should come together to form the committee by July 26,” he stated, stressing on the need for steps to be taken ahead of time to ensure that such mistakes are not repeated the following year.
“Taking this as an example, the authorities should take steps to ensure that the syllabus, study material, glossary and the like are all prepared in regional languages to avoid errors,” he said.
