TN BJP slams DMK for moral support to no-confidence motion
BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan ridiculed the DMK for supporting the no-confidence motion with zero MPs and asked why the DMK did not bring a no-confidence motion when Sri Lankan Tamils were massacred during the Congress government in 2009.

Addressing the media at the airport, Tamilisai came down heavily on DMK working president MK Stalin’s statement appealing to the AIADMK to support the no-confidence motion against the BJP government. Stalin’s allegations that Tamil Nadu was being ignored by the BJP government at the Centre are false, she said.
Cauvery waters had reached Tamil Nadu after the formation of the Cauvery Water Management Authority by the Centre. Earlier, the Congress-DMK alliance government had ignored the dispute altogether, she accused. Besides, poor students had managed to get medical admission through the introduction of NEET examination by the Union government, Tamilisai said and added that the Centre had announced setting up of an AIIMS in Tamil Nadu.
She also hit back at Stalin for the latter’s comments that actor Rajinikanth was acting like a ‘star spokesperson’ for the BJP and described Stalin as ‘zero spokesperson’ of the Congress. Thanking Rajinikanth for his support to the Chennai-Salem Expressway project, she said the actor should not be tagged with the BJP for his support to the scheme since he had welcomed a good scheme for the benefit of the people. Stalin goes to London often but prevents the state people from getting similar facilities in Tamil Nadu.
On the translation errors in NEET question paper for students who took the examination in Tamil, she said the translators sent by the Tamil Nadu government should be questioned and punished. The students who wrote the examination in Tamil should not be punished for the mistakes of the translators, she said and added that the students should be given the due recognition.
She also said the incident of transferring a cook working in the Integrated Child Welfare Scheme since she was a Dalit was regrettable. There should not be such discrimination and it is anguishing to know that such an attitude prevails in Tamil Nadu. The state government should take steps to reform the attitude of the people, she said. Tamilisai added that the Centre is providing all kinds of help for the upliftment of Dalits.
