Counselling for vocational stream begins in Anna University
Counselling for students, seeking admission to vocational courses, began at the Anna University campus on Wednesday. A total of 1,601 eligible candidates are expected to attend the three-day exercise.

The counselling started around 9 am for candidates, who secured an aggregate of above 180. The students, who got an aggregate of 170, appeared for the counselling around 10.30 am.
While a total of 2,249 enrolled online for various vocational courses, 91 candidates were rejected after the certificate verification.
Of the 1,601 candidates, there were 1,550 male students and 51 female students. On July 20, the last day for counselling, candidates, who secured aggregate between 126 and 112 are expected to attend the process.
RV Sri Hari of Coimbatore came first in the merit quota with a score of 199.83 followed by Sri Raman B from the same district, who had scored 199.67 marks.
Unlike the main stream, the counselling for vocational courses will be held in Chennai where candidates from outstation will also be participating in the process.
Anna University officials also created awareness about the counselling procedures among students and parents and informed that the applicants must ensure that all online counselling activities like making payment, adding choices, locking choices, tentative allotment, submission of allotment option and final allotment were performed at the TNEA portals.
The third phase counselling for sons and daughters of ex-servicemen and eminent sport persons will be held on July 21 and July 22 respectively at Anna University in Chennai.
