MLA R Kanagaraj made this announcement, during a visit to Panchayat Union Elementary School in Sulur on a tip-off about suspicious movement of strangers in the premises.

On Tuesday, the teachers noticed some suspicious individuals roaming around the school and immediately informed the police.

However, the men fled before the police could arrived. Meanwhile, the MLA who visited the school on receiving this information and inspected the classroom, where freebies for students were found burnt and spoke to the teachers about the safety of the students.

Speaking to the media, the MLA said Rs 5,000 in cash will be rewarded to those who would be able to give information on culprits behind this crime.

Similarly, those who either nab or tip-off chain snatchers can take home Rs 50,000, while the police too would get Rs 25,000 for catching chain snatchers.
