Stalin wants EPS to resign for allotting tenders to relatives
Reiterating that Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami should demit office to ensure free and fair probe in the alleged road tender allocation scam, Leader of Opposition MK Stalin demanded that the highway tenders awarded to S Nagarajan and the Chief Minister’s in-law P Subramaniam be cancelled and retendered.

Remarking that by awarding tenders to his relatives, Palaniswami has undermined probity in public life, Stalin, in a statement, said the Chief Minister had opened a dark chapter in Tamil Nadu history during the AIADMK regime by making relatives secure tenders worth Rs 1,000 crore in his own department.
“In awarding tenders to a company in which stakes were held by his in-laws, the Chief Minister has violated the oath he had taken while assuming the office,” the Leader of Opposition said.
Stalin added that the state has been shamed by the silence of the Chief Minister who has neither come forward to give an explanation nor demit office.
Reiterating that Palaniswami should resign immediately to ensure fair probe into the highway tenders allocation, Stalin said the tenders awarded to Nagarajan and Subramaniam be cancelled and re-allotted to others.
The DMK working president also demanded a vigilance probe into the commission exchanged in the tender allocation.
Earlier, talking to media persons at party headquarters Anna Arivalayam, DMK headquarters secretary Duraimurugan said that no tender was allotted to relatives in the DMK regime.
Recalling the consultation organised prior to the procurement of TV for the free colour TV scheme, Duraimurugan, who is also the Deputy Leader of Opposition, claimed that utmost transparency was followed in awarding of government contracts by the DMK, unlike the incumbent AIADMK regime.
