Speaking at the airport here, he dismissed the assertions of PMK founder S Ramadoss that the latter’s party would not align with the BJP and said, “When election approaches the same people will be desperate for an alliance.”
To a query on Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai’s charge that Radhakrishnan was making allegations of terrorist activities without evidence, he said after his speech several terrorists were arrested and most people indulging in rhetoric had fallen silent.
Asked about the scam in egg supply, he said the people of Tamil Nadu were being deceived. Reacting to a question on former Union Minister A Raja’s query about what the Centre was doing if the state government is corrupt, Radhakrishnan said people need not take Raja seriously. When the DMK was with the Congress, the former faced many corruption charges, while it was not the same when they were with the BJP, he said.
He also denied allegations that the BJP is running the state through the AIADMK. He also said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had accepted his request for linking river Godavari with Cauvery through river Pennai.
