Death of three shocks Madurai

Upset over her husband’s suspicion that she was having illicit relationship, a 35-year-old woman allegedly murdered her two children before committing suicide in her house at Sathyasai Nagar, here on early Friday. Police said the woman R Michael Jeeva murdered her daughter R Haritha (4) and son R Hari Kishore Kumar (3) by suffocating them with a plastic bag and later committed suicide by hanging. The bodies were shifted to the Government Rajaji Hospital for post-mortem.

Police recovered two suicide notes from the house in which the woman stated that she has no extra-marital affair as suspected by her husband Raja (37), a lorry driver. She took the extreme step following his suspicion over her fidelity and frequent domestic spat over the issue. The woman in her another letter, requested her relatives not to allow her husband to perform the last rites.

Subramaniapuram police have registered a case and are investigating.
