Temple jumbo to be treated at Orathanadu

The team from Orathanaduwhich screened the jumbo on Samayapuram temple premises on Thursday, later advised officials to shift the animal to the Centre for further treatment.

Dr A Palanisamy of the VCRI along with the team members, S Senthilkumar, M Veeraselvam, T Arulkumarand S Muthukrishnan, checked the elephant and said that after getting a formal communication from the temple about the swelling on legs and the ventral abdominal flap of the elephant, a team of doctors visited Samayapuram and treated the elephant for two days. We tried to make the elephant walk a few rounds.

However, even after the treatment there was improvement in its condition. So, the team advised the officials to shift the elephant to the VCRI at Orathanadu as a larger team would diagnose and treat the animal.
