In Coimbatore, coracle rides were suspended in Baralikkadu near Karamadai due to heavy flooding in Bhavani River. As the Pillur dam was full, water discharge surged manifold resulting in flooding along the river course. The eco-tourism activity organised by the Coimbatore Forest Department has been suspended.

Coracle rides have also been cancelled in Hogenakkal for the fourth consecutive day due to heavy flooding. Water gushing into Tamil Nadu at Billigundulu has surged to 39,000 cusecs on Thursday evening from 36,000 cusecs at 7 am.  The water level in Mettur dam has reached 73 feet, up by ten feet just in the last four days. Meanwhile, heavy rains triggered mud slips in at least six spots on the Ooty-Ithalar Road. The mud slips, which occurred past midnight on Wednesday, caused road blocks on the stretch on Thursday.

A team of highways department engaged earth movers to clear the road. Due to continuous spell of rains, all the tourist spots in The Nilgiris wore a deserted look.  In both Valparai and parts of The Nilgiris, schools and colleges reopened after remaining shut. Buses from Coimbatore to Kerala were not operated due to landslides in Attapady in the neighbouring state.
