Rajini camp intensifies drive, holds meetings across districts

Meetings held by the Rajini Makkal Mandram, including the women’s wing and youth wing have taken place in Chennai North, Chennai South, Chennai Central, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Tiruchy, Erode, Thanjavur and Ariyalur.

The organisation also amped up its online presence by launching dedicated Twitter accounts for each district. The announcement was made by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya recently.

A source from the actor-turned-politician’s camp tells us, “Though he has been busy shooting over the last month or so since Kaala’s release, there have been clear instructions given to core people in the Mandram to speed up appointments across the state and increase the member count. But, he is expected to come back to the city soon and make an address shortly to reveal the future plans.”

Rajinikanth declared his intention to enter politics on December 31 last year. Since his announcement, the fan clubs of Rajinikanth across the state have been organised under a nodal body the Rajini Makkal Mandram and an announcement from him on the party launch was eagerly expected.
