Toy guns create panic at TMB branch

Police sources said that on Saturday morning, an official from the Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank had gone inside the old storage room adjacent to the bank vault and found a plastic bag wrapped inside the storage along with the old files. He asked a housekeeping to go and inspect the bag. Two pistols along with bottles of chloroform and blood were recovered from the bag. Soon, she raised alarm and officials rushed inside. They informed the police about the incident. A special team headed by Manapparai DSP rushed to the spot and seized the items from the bank for further investigation.

Primary investigation revealed that both were toy guns, and one of the bottles had fake blood while the other contained chloroform. One of the accused from the Mannargudi TMB bank robberry case was an employee in the Manapparai branch. Thus there are possibilities of him being the one to hide these inside the storeroom. Superintendent of Police had ordered for investigation for finding the hidden information for the material used.
