Health Minister releases MBBS/BDS merit list
Keerthana K of Chennai, who had topped the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) with a total score of 676, has featured first in the merit list which the state government released on Thursday.

Health Minister Dr C Vijaya Bhaskar, released the rank list for MBBS and BDS courses, the first phase of counselling for which is to begin this Sunday.Â
The counselling is being held to fill 3393 MBBS seats and 1198 BDS government and self-financed seats across the state.
Besides Keerthana, five other candidates who featured among the top 20, are from the city. Students from other states, including Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh have also featured in this list.
Stating that a total of 28067 applications have been received, the Minister said that a total of 25,417 applications were accepted, of which 10,473 were of male and 17593 females.
On the dual nativity issue that was brought up last year, Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan said that regulations have been tightened this year to avoid any further problems.
