PM Modi to lay foundation for AIIMS
BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lay the foundation stone for the construction of AIIMS at Madurai.

The 750-bed modern facility will be set up at Thoppur near Madurai at an estimated cost of Rs 1,500 crore. The institute will also have a teaching facility attached to it with 100 MBBS seats.
The AIIMS issue triggered a clash between the BJP and PMK which also claimed credit for the scheme.
A verbal duel between Tamilisai and PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss resulted in clashes between the cadre of the two parties when a group of PMK functionaries tried to besiege the BJP headquarters in the city.
