    10,000 Class 12 students to be selected for free CA coaching

    The Tamil Nadu Government is set offer a first of its kind free training to students to enable them to become Chartered Accountants. As per an agreement between the state government and the Chartered Accountants of India, as many as 10,000 Class 12 students from across the state will be offered free coaching every year.

    A senior official from the Education Department on Thursday said that approximately 300 CA aspirants will be selected from each district and provided training.

    “Course kits prepared by a group of registered chartered accountants including question bank and other materials will be given to each student selected for the training,” he added.

    Stating that the coaching will commence by mid-July, the official said that the government will also ensure placement for the students, who successfully complete the training and pass the examinations.

    “Government is in the process of appointing experts for training centres. The trainers will give comprehensive coaching for the students, who are appearing for entrance as well as for those preparing for their intermediate examinations,” he said.

    The official added that the education department is also planning to establish residential coaching centres in certain districts to enable students, who hail from distant parts of the district, to participate in the coaching programme.

    Moreover, the coaching classes will be conducted during the weekends and school holidays to enable the students attend the classes without missing out on regular school, the official said and added that as per the plan over 200 coaching centres will be set up across the state.
