Accidents claim two lives in Tiruvannamalai district

In the first accident, a retired Village Administrative Officer was killed on the spot, when he was on his way to Chengam town from Tiruvannamalai. Kuppusamy (62) was knocked down by a TNSTC bus near Earaiyur. On information, Pachal police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the Chengam government hospital for post-mortem.

In the second accident, a 45-year-old woman was knocked down by a train at Kannamangalam in the district. Kanniga was missing from her house on Sunday night. Relatives found her body near a railway track the next day morning.

When Kannamangalam police came to know about Kanniga’s death, they informed Katpadi railway police, who took possession of the body and conducted inquiries to find out whether it was an accident or a suicide.
