With Kaala out, expect party launch anytime
It was a huge relief for Rajinikanth as Kaala finally hit the screens on Thursday, with theatres screening the movie without any trouble across Tamil Nadu.

The actor-turned-politician has now reportedly flown to Darjeeling to begin shooting for his next flick with Karthik Subbaraj — without waiting even a day to receive feedback about his second outing with Pa. Ranjith.
“It’s because he wants to finish this shoot as well, as soon as possible, so that he can focus on his political career.
2.0 is also completed — and Rajinikanth’s mind is now fully focused on his party launch. The reason he waited so long (since announcing his intention to enter politics on December 31) was for Kaala to release and analyse its response,” says a source in the know.
The source adds that planning for the official party launch has now begun in earnest. “There won’t be any beating around the bush anymore.
People can expect an announcement from him at the earliest — and it is going to be a grand occasion.
Everything is in place mostly as the Rajini Makkal Mandram has been working overtime to ensure all the postings and appointments across districts are in order. Since the focus has been on Kaala over the past few days, it has given the Mandram members time to fast-track proceedings.” However, Rajinikanth will continue to juggle his political and film careers (similar to Kamal Haasan) until he completes the shooting of his next movie.
Even then, he may decide to sign more films depending on circumstances.
“He has never explicitly stated that his film career will be over — and there’s a good chance that given the right scripts and if his health concerns are addressed accordingly, he could continue acting for more years.”
