CPI state secretary Saleem and CPI(M) secretary Rajangam took out a procession from the Nehru street to Mission street junction.
As they reached the Ambur saalai near the assembly, police erected barricades and stopped them. Thereafter, the volunteers held a demonstration there and were arrested as they refused to disperse on being ordered to do so by the police. Saleem and Rajangam, who also courted arrest, told newspersons that the administration is trying to hide details and there are many accused in this case.
They demanded the government to publish the entire list of those involved in the case.
