Jaya ate badam halwa, informs nurse

Nurse Renuka is said to have informed the one-man commission that Jayalalithaa had consumed home-made badam halwa on November 27, 2016. Reports that came to light earlier showed that even though a chronic diabetic, Jayalalithaa was allowed to consume sweets during her hospitalisation.Â
This detail was present in the logs submitted by Apollo Hospitals where it shows that Jayalalithaa had taken sweets like gulab jamun, laddoo and rasgulla on November 22, 2016.Â
On December 2 and 3, she is said to have had banana, strawberry and apple milkshake. Speaking to reporters, after deposing before the panel, Dr Archana said that she had provided all the clarifications to the commission regarding the treatment that was administered to the then ailing chief minister Jayalalithaa.Â
Another piece of information that has been revealed on Tuesday is that after taking ill at her home in Poes Garden and subsequent transfer to Apollo Hospitals on September 22, 2016, Jayalalithaa had suffered a heart attack on October 4.Â
The reports from that time have been signed off by Apollo Hospitals Dr Babu Abraham.Â
As the probe continues, Dr Prasanna and nurse Sheela are set to depose before the commission on June 6.Â
It may be recalled that the Commission earlier released an audio clip and diet and medical chart of the former CM submitted by her personal physician Dr KS Sivkumar during the inquiry. The chart had details of her diet, blood pressure and sugar levels as noted down by the doctor on August 2, 2016, prior to her hospitalisation.
