Mock assembly, a childish act, terms Thambidurai
Strongly condemning the DMK’s mock assembly sessions as a children’s game, the Lok Sabha Deputy speaker M Thambidurai said at Karur on Saturday that the people will soon forget the DMK if they fail to participate in the Assembly and be the voice of the people.

Speaking to reporters, Thambidurai, said, now, Karnataka cannot refrain from releasing Cauvery water, as the council is given the major authority in deciding the sharing of the Cauvery water. “As long as the state gets Cauvery water regularly, the river management board can be called by any name,” the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker said.
Mocking the mock assembly sessions being organised by the DMK, Thambidurai said “It is a child’s play. DMK must take part in the sessions inside the House not outside.”
He also said, “The elected members are accountable to the public and the failure to participate in the sessions, would deny the rights of the people.”
Meanwhile, when asked about actor-politician Rajinikanth’s visit to Thoothukudi and his comments on police firing, Thambidurai said that he should first form a political party and then criticise the government and others in open. At the same time, he stated that proper action would be initiated against SVe Shekhar, who has been evading arrest. “The state government should come forward to arrest him,” he said.
