Kovai-Chennai special train on Sunday
A special fare train will be operated from Coimbatore to Chennai to clear extra rush of traffic on Sunday. It will leave Coimbatore at 12.15 am and reach Chennai Central at 8.45 am on the same day.

Advance reservation for the train with stoppages at Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam and Perambur would commence from 8 am on Friday. Suburban train services from MMC to Gummidipoondi and Sullurpeta would be changed owing to line blockage from 12.30 am to 5.30 am for 17 days from June 1 to 20, with an exception on Mondays.Â
These include the MMC – Gummidipoondi EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 12.15 am and Gummidipoondi – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Gummidipoondi at 02.45 am. MMC – Sullurpeta EMU local, scheduled to leave MMC at 04.20 am and Gummidipoondi – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Gummidipoondi at 04.55 am would be partially cancelled on the aforesaid days.Â
A passenger special will be operated from Gummidipoondi to Sullurpeta at 5.38 am on said days for the benefit of passengers, a release from southern railway said.
