Is it Rajini’s voice, ask Stalin, Vaiko, TTV
Opposition leaders in the state on Thursday hit out at actor Rajinikanth for his anti-social infiltration remarks on the Thoothukudi police firing.

DMK working president MK Stalin doubting if it was Rajini’s “own voice,” said, “I doubt if it was his own voice. BJP and ruling AIADMK are voicing same views. Whatever be it, he is the superstar. Since he has said that he knows who the anti-social elements are, it will bode well for the country if he identifies them. Let us wait and see if he does that.” Speaking to reporters in Puducherry, he stated that life was a struggle, and nothing could be achieved without a struggle. Stalin referred to the anti-Hindi, Independence and Jallikattu protests and said, “I hope he knows that everything was achieved only because of protests.”
MDMK leader Vaiko said the actor did not know anything about environment issues and the protests to protect them. He also said there are efforts to turn the state into a graveyard through projects like the neutrino, shell gas and hydrocarbon extraction and denial of Cauvery water. Those who are protesting are doing so to prevent Tamil Nadu from becoming a graveyard, he added.
Mounting a frontal attack on the actor-politician, AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran asserted that the superstar’s voice plays as proxy to that of BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.
To a query, he said, “People look at Rajinikanth only as an actor and nothing more. Everyone who was shot dead in Thoothukudi during anti-Sterlite protests was public. How could they be termed as ‘anti-socials?’ There are ‘black sheep’ in police force as well. We respect the police force, but it act on the beck and call of the state machinery.”
