The government had decided on this step to manage the situation to ensure that government schools produced increased pass percentage in public examinations, he said.
He also released the results of Class 11 public examination conducted by the state government in March this year and said a pass percentage of 89.35 was registered in Puducherry and Karaikal regions.Â
Of the 15,246 students who appeared through government and private schools in the two regions, 13,622 students had emerged successful, Kamalakannan said.
He further said, students who were not successful in the examination could proceed with the Plus 2 course without break, both in private and government schools.
He said the government would adopt ‘academic audit’ to ascertain the punctuality in attendance of teachers, discipline on the part of students and coordination between the schools and the parents to augment pass percentage in the future.
