outside, went into the house.
As her parents were away at work, the neighbours took her to a private hospital. However, doctors declared her brought dead. The Sulur police have registered a case and further investigations are on. In a similar incident, another girl from Salem attempted suicide by self-immolation as she failed in the exam. Police said Rabina (18), of Aranganur village near Mecheri, was studying at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in the same neighbourhood.
“She set herself on fire by pouring kerosene when she was alone at house. Neighbours heard her cries and rushed her to Salem Government Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment,” police said. The Suramangalam police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
