25 NLC workers attempt suicide over transfer

According to sources, the contract workers were on an agitation following the transfer of a few of them from one department to another.
Sources further said that a meeting was held at the office of the Assistant Central Labour Commissioner in Puducherry and requested the NLC management to not transfer the contract workers.
Meanwhile, 25 contract workers who came for duty consumed poison and a few fainted. Hearing the news, police and NLC officials rushed the 25 workers to the NLC hospital where they were being treated.
