Celebrating completion of four years in power at the Centre in Kamalalayam, state BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan said the excellent report card of the party’s Union government would bring it back to power at the Centre.

“The BJP enters the fifth year in power and the party will place its achievements before the people throughout this year. But, one year is not enough to speak about its achievements in the last four years,” she told the media here.

The BJP leader said she would address a public meeting at Nagercoil and Union Minister of state Pon Radhakrishnan would speak at Madurai. The BJP would explain how the party resolved the Cauvery dispute which remained unsolved for the last 100 years, she said.

“What all we promised to the people, we have delivered. We have raised the country’s prestige besides its social and economic status.

We will seek positive votes for the schemes we have implemented.

We will go to the people in all the 66,000 wards of the state,” Tamilisai said.

The BJP government had opened bank accounts for about 30 crore people. A total of 50 medical colleges had been opened throughout the country, Tamilisai added.

Denying allegations of lack of employment generation during the BJP rule, she said about eight crore people had been given loans to start small and medium enterprises.

“Even if we assume that the new small and medium industries have provided jobs to two persons in one company, about 16 crore people have got employment,” she said.

The defence corridor coming up in five cities at an estimate of 6.5 lakh crore would provide more jobs. In Tamil Nadu alone, industries at an investment of Rs 10 lakh crore had been planned. Minor airports are coming up at Salem, Hosur, Vellore and Karaikal and a new harbour would be formed at Kanniyakumari district at a cost of Rs 28,000 crore.

Despite the BJP’s achievements, there is a deliberate negative campaign against the party and such propaganda would be defeated by the people, she added.
