Vaiko warns Palaniswami against deployment of paramilitary forces

Citing the conversation between Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Girija Vaidhyanathan, he said the people of Thoothukudi would consider it as a foreign invasion.

“I have gone to the houses of all the persons who had died in the firing, besides the homes of those injured and I am only conveying their anger to the government. If paramilitary forces come to Tamil Nadu, the state government will be overthrown,” he said.

Garlanding the statue of Daily Thanthi founder Si Pa Aditanar to mark his 37th death anniversary, Vaiko vowed to fulfil the Tamil nationalist agenda of the late leader, recalling his support to the cause of Tamil Eelam, a separate homeland for Tamils. He also flayed the suspension of internet services in three districts and said closure of the Sterlite factory would be the only action to pacify the people.

Tamil nationalist groups too questioned the conversation between the Union Home Secretary and Chief Secretary questioning why there is no consultation with the Chief Minister.
