Man molests daughter’s classmate, arrested

“The accused D Raja (34) was a resident of Woraiyur and lives with his wife and child. The victim, who resides near his house, is a classmate of his daughter,” police sources said. 

Raja use to drop both the girls at school and has been allegedly behaving with his daughter’s classmate with sexual intentions over the past three months, a police source added. 

On May 19, the accused took the girl to Thanjavur under the pretext of showing her the Big Temple. Unaware of his intentions, the girl accompanied him and he reportedly molested her and brought her back the same day. 

When she reached home, she appeared shocked and upon her mother’s questioning, she narrated the incident. She also told her mother that Raja threatened her with dire consequences. 

Subsequently, the girl’s mother filed a complaint against the accused at the Srirangam AWPS, following which he was arrested.
