Masked gang kills two in Ramnad

Two men, Vijay and Boominathan, after attending a family function in the house of one Selvam were sleeping behind the house on Sunday night.

Meanwhile , a 10-member masked gang came there and attacked them with the sickle. Vijay and Boominathan were killed on the spot in the attack, while a minor boy sustained grievous injuries. Kenikarai police are investigating the incident. Initially, the kin refused to hand over the body to the police.

After five hours of persuasion and an assurance from the cops that the murderers would be arrested soon, the relatives allowed the police to take the body. Police suspect that previous enmity could be the reason behind the double murder.

Woman killed in Nellai In Tirunelveli district, a 21-year-old narikurava woman was murdered by her husband following a domestic quarrel near Vallioor on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Kousalya and her husband Muthuraja. Police said Muthuraja attacked Kousalya with an iron rod and killed her. Vallioor police have booked a case against him.
