He was congratulating JD(S) leader and CM designate H D Kumarasamy and Congress for the ‘defeat’ of BJP and the imminent come back of the JDS led govenrment in Karnataka. His tweet apparently suggested Karnataka like partnership between secular regional parties and Congress against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP in 2019.
DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi also took to Twitter and said, “Victory to democracy and to the people of India. Congratulations to the real CM Thiru. Kumarasawamy. JDS, Congress and its president Rahul Gandhi. And the nation is indebted to the Supreme Court.”
Earlier, Stalin conducted a field survey of the party unit in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Stalin, who reached Puducherry last evening, had a meeting with DMK (North) functionaries and addressed them.
Later in the day, he held discussions with DMK (South) and Karaikal unit functionaries and addressed them in a bid to develop the party in the UT.
DMK Conveners SP Sivakumar and R Siva said they are happy that their leader came to Puducherry to hold discussions with them and added Stalin had invited party functionaries from all over Tamil Nadu to come to Chennai to have a discussion.
All steps will be taken to develop the party in the UT, they said.
