Meanwhile, volunteers of the Socialist Unity Centre of India held a demonstration in front of the office of the District Collector demanding a ban on the chemical factory at Kalapet here, lifting of the 144 prohibitory order clamped in the area and withdrawal of cases charged against the people who protested against the factory among other things.
