Youth killed after asking for tumbler to have liquor

The incident occurred when an already drunk Rajkumar (20) of Uliyambakkam near Arakkonam approached Lalitha (60), who also resides in the same locality. She turned down Rajkumar’s request to give him a tumbler and water to consume the liquor. Annoyed at the refusal, he picked up a quarrel with her, which infuriated the woman. Subsequently, Lalitha helped by her son Sudhakar attacked the youth with wooden clubs.

Rajkumar was immediately rushed to the Arakkonam Government Hospital by locals. He was shifted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai, where he succumbed to injuries in the early hours of Sunday.
