Rajini Makkal Mandram to focus on building youth base
Following the meeting between Rajinikanth and youth wing leaders of Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) on Sunday, it has been learnt that the Mandram will prioritise the building of a youth-led core base, a move that is expected to strengthen the grassroots of the organisation.

After the audio launch for his upcoming movie Kaala, Rajinikanth held a meeting with all district level office bearers and coordinators of RMM at his residence. This was followed by the meeting with the youth wing leaders. Rajinikanth will also meet with the office bearers of the women’s wing on Wednesday. A larger meeting with close to 8,500 office bearers is expected to take place later this month.
Over the past few months, recruitment of members and appointment of office bearers were being done. A disciplinary action committee was also constituted to look into any violations committed by members.
When contacted, state secretary of the Mandram Raju Mahalingam said, “We are working on strengthening the organisation. Rajinikanth discussed the problems and developments in each district with the youth wing leaders. We are done with 80 per cent of the appointment of office bearers across various levels. There are no plans for a public meeting as of now.”
When queried about the confusion prevalent among fans, Raju Mahalingam said they (fans) are aware that Rajinikanth will enter politics and that their concerns have been allayed. The actor-turned-politician has hopes that his youth ‘soldiers’, as he had referred to them earlier, will tackle social issues prevalent in every district once his party is announced.
