No delay: Class 12 results to be out on May 16

In addition, the answer paper evaluation of Class 10 board exams was also completed and the results will be published as per schedule on May 23.

The Directorate of School Examination of Tamil Nadu is in the process of uploading the data of the Class 12 board results into the system.

Sources from the directorate said the government is planning to send the results through email on request from schools. “If the plan is implemented, the results will be sent to the school authorities according to their request,” an official said. The official said the results will also be sent through SMS this year to the mobile numbers provided by the students.

Stating that so far, the student’s name in the certificate was only in English, the official said for the first time, the names of the candidates will be available in Tamil as well. He said at present, officials were involved in updating the marks in the database.

“An analysis of the students’ performance is also under progress.

Everything will be ready well ahead of the announcement of the results,” he added.

“Evaluation of language papers was easy for Class 12. However, certain Science students performed poorly in Physics, Chemistry and Biology,” said A Kannan, who undertook the evaluation work in CSI Bain School in Kilpauk.

According to him, except for some places, the facilities allotted to the teachers at the evaluation centres were good. “In some evaluation centres, teachers had to endure extreme heat,” he added.
