Mother was robbed: Victim’s son

“Jewels worn by my dead mother Rukmani and those belonging to others, amounting to 50 sovereigns, in addition to Rs 3 lakh and unaccounted Malaysian currency and 5 cellphones were stolen by the mob which attacked my mother and her relatives,” said Rukmani’s son Gopinath at Tiruvannamalai government hospital on Thursday.

Interacting with the media, he added, “The government should act immediately against the culprits.” Demanding compensation from the government, he said, “If the government failed to act, we will move the State Human Rights Commission.”
