Writer confesses to killing son
Renowned writer and journalist, Soundara Pandian, famously called SouPa, has confessed to killing his own son. Based on his confession, he was arrested on Wednesday.

Police sources said SouPa was associated with a weekly magazine and was doing popular TV shows in leading Tamil satellite news channels. SouPa was the story writer of the Tamil movie Seevalaperi Pandi. Recently his wife, Latha, principal at the Government Arts College in Kovilpatti, and living separately, had filed a police complaint that her son Vipin (25) had gone missing from April 30. SS Colony Police had been investigating the incident and on Wednesday they interrogated SouPa.
During the questioning, he confessed that he had hit Vipin, following which the young man fell unconscious and died.
However, police said it was not clear where the body had been buried. Police suspect that it could have been buried in a garden owned by SouPa at Ammayanayakkanur in Dindigul district and have rushed to
the spot.
