Online engineering registrations cross 20,000
In just three days, the online registration for admission to engineering courses in Tamil Nadu touched 20,000 mark with more students expected to enroll in the coming days.

This year, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) Counselling is a process through which more than 1.5 lakh engineering aspirants is expected get themselves enrolled into engineering colleges of the state through online registration.
TNEA sources told DT Next that as on Saturday a total of 20,508 students have registered to seek admission in engineering colleges.
Of the total, 17,897 have enrolled themselves online and the rest used the facilitation centres, which was set up in all the districts.
“On Saturday alone 4,249 students have registered. Of the total 3,794 candidates registered through online while 455 students used facilitation centres for enrolling,” sources added.
However, the original certificate verification for all applicants will be done only at the facilitation centres. The facilitation centres would provide the required support and guidance to the applicants, besides extending internet-enabled computer facilities.
A booklet containing information about colleges would be provided to the applicants to prepare their choice list and the centres would also screen videos demonstrating how to use the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission portal during various stages of counselling.
