Three boys drown in water body in Thoothukudi district

The three boys, identified as Ganeshkumar (11), his brother Kavinkumar (9) and another child, Gowtham (8) were playing on Sunday evening. As they did not return to their houses past sunset, their parents started searching throughout the village but could not locate them. 

However, people passing by the water body the next morning noticed the bodies of the children floating on it. Subsequently, information was given to the respective families and entire village assembled near the spot. Police, who were also informed, rushed to the place. 

The bodies were then recovered and sent to Vilathikulam Government Hospital for post-mortem. In their preliminary investigations, Police found the boys would have accidentally slipped into the water body while playing. A detailed probe is now underway. Following the death of three boys, a pall of gloom descended on the entire village.
