Annamalai University sources said the faculty of Engineering and Technology is now offering 10 BE programmes approved by the Higher Education Department with a total sanctioned intake of 1,020 students.Â
As the university is situated in a rural area and due to mushrooming engineering colleges, admission to various courses has been severely affected following fierce competition.Â
The Vice Chancellor of the Annamalai University had requested the government to include the university under the single window admission process of TNEA 2018 online counselling. After considering the request, the government has directed that the admission to BE degree courses conducted by the Annamalai University be included under the single window process of TNEA online counselling conducted by the Anna University.Â
The government also directed the secretary, selection committee, office of the Director of Medical Education to fill up the remaining 85 per cent of seats in the undergraduate programme (127 seats) and BDS (68 seats) in the Rajah Muthiah Institute of Health Sciences in the university for the academic year. Those who opt for the seats in the Rajah Muthiah Institute of Health Sciences have to pay the fee prescribed by Annamalai University. The fee structure should be displayed at the time of the counselling.
