Rajini to open American wing of mandram on May 6

The 67-year-old is currently in the United States on a personal trip for around ten days. Though he stated that the trip was not for any political purpose, it has been established now that more Mandram work is being planned with his overseas team before the impending launch of his party. 

To be held at the SV Lotus Temple Auditorium in Fairfax on May 6, the event will see the presence of several USA and Canada office-bearers as well. 

The Rajini Makkal Mandram is a nodal organisation for all the fan clubs of Rajinikanth across the world. Efforts to strengthen the member base, appoint office-bearers and establish an organisational structure have been underway after Rajinikanth’s announcement of his intention to enter politics. 

The North American chapter of the Rajini Makkal Mandram was established to this end. During the trip, Rajini will also preside over the opening of his Mandram chapters in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. 

Rajinikanth announced his intention to enter politics on December 31 last year. Since then there has been an eager wait for further updates on the formal launch of his party. The state secretary Raju Mahalingam and chief coordinator VM Sudhakar of the Rajini Makkal Mandram have been overseeing the appointment of office-bearers in various districts. 

It is expected that Rajinikanth could make a formal announcement of a date for the launch of his party on his return from the United States.
