Ponnar prays for BJP win in Karnataka polls at Rameswaram
Union Minister Pon Radhakrishan offered a special ‘Kalasa Puja’ for the BJP to win in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly election at the Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram on Saturday.
Madurai
Radhakrishnan along with his party functionaries offered the puja and then performed a special yaagam. He also offered a long prayer for his party to register an emphatic win in the Karnataka election.
Following that he addressed reporters in which he said that the BJP will definitely win the Karnataka election and Cauvery water will reach Tamil Nadu.
When asked whether Cauvery water will reach only after the completion of Karanataka elections, he replied that he did not mean that and was evasive. When asked about the purpose of the prayer, he replied it was performed for the general well being of people and as most people do not perform prayers on Saturday he went to perform it.
On the criticism of AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran that Cauvery water will not reach Tamil Nadu until the completion of Karnataka elections, he replied that Dhinakaran is turning into an astrologist and refused to answer the question.
When asked whether the BJP is behind the recent rift in Dhinakaran’s family as rumoured on the social media, he replied that nowadays people started to blame the BJP even if there is rain or no rain.
On the allegations on judges of the Madras High Court in the 11 MLAs disqualification case and about the accusation that there was political interference in the favourable judgment to the ruling party, he replied, “Judges are highly respectable people and a section of people is involved in shaming the judges by making false accusations.”
