The court also transferred the case from CB-CID to Idol Wing Police.  Following misappropriation in creating the new Panchaloha idol of the handayudhapani Temple in Palani in 2004, the Idol Wing Police had registered a case on March 22 and arrested Muthiah and former Executive Officer of the Temple KK Raja on March 24.

While the Idol Wing Police were conducting investigations, the DGP transferred the case to CB-CID on April 3. Following this, Muthiah and Raja filed a bail petition citing poor health and that they needed to undergo treatment. Following that the case was heard by Justice GR Swaminathan on Thursday and Idol Wing IG Pon Manickavel appeared in court.
