Crucial Rajini Mandram meet this week

Sources told DT Next that Rajinikanth could interact with the office-bearers via video conference or in person. 

Efforts to organise the actor’s fan clubs and appoint office bearers has been underway ever since Rajinikanth announced his intention to enter politics last December. The responsibility of firming up the organisation’s structure along with appointment of office bearers has been taken care by Mahalingam and Sudhakar.

According to sources, a massive social media campaign is planned before the party’s launch. With Kamal Haasan and his party Makkal Needhi Maiam showing the way on engaging social media users, a dedicated team is expected to ensure that news and updates about Rajinikanth’s party is constantly trended on networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Sources said the social media strategy is also designed to maintain a distance between Rajinikanth and BJP, a party which he is perceived to have a close relationship with. The official Rajini Mandram app, featuring the party’s ideology and agenda, will be updated and contain messages from the Superstar.  A planned outreach program through the RMM, which has enrolled over 2 million members, will see streetwise canvassing in every district. 

Now with all decks seemingly cleared, it is expected the final step before the Mandram is officially transitioned into a political outfit is for the actor-turned-politician to take charge. However, Rajinikanth is rumored to be going to the United States, where he is also expected to indulge in party work.
