DMK men call for ‘mercy killing’ of BJP leader
Condemning the alleged derogatory tweet of BJP leader H Raja, DMK cadres continued their protest in various parts of southern districts on Thursday. Raja, in his recent tweet, had allegedly shamed DMK leader M Karunanidhi and his daughter Kanimozhi MP.

Raja was widely criticised for his tweet not just by the members of opposition but also by his own party members. However, the DMK cadres took to streets and burnt Raja’s effigy in various parts of the state. Initially women cadres protested by burning the effigy of Raja and on Thursday the protests continued.
In Kovilpatti, Raja’s effigy was burnt after being hit with sticks.
Similarly in Sivaganga, DMK cadres staged a novel protest in front of the Collectorate. They said that Raja had been affected mentally and so the state should go for mercy killing of Raja. They also shouted slogans against Raja.
