A division bench, before whom the appeal filed, issued notice to the counsel of the accused Mohammed Mubarak of Coimbatore, and posted the case for further hearing to April 24. NIA had filed a petition in the Poonamallee special Court seeking police custody of the accused Subir and Mubarak for 10 days after it took over the case on January 31.
But the judge refused to grant police custody holding, “There might have been change in respect of the investigating agencies. But irrespective of the fact that whether the investigation is continued or carried out afresh the period of detention of the accused has no change in colour and gets continued from the very first day in custody.”
Thereafter, they moved the special court on February 21 seeking custodial interrogation of the two accused to collect more evidence.
Exam results to be out on time: Government
The evaluation of answer scripts of Classes 10, 11 and 12 board exams will not suffer as action will be taken against government school teachers, who strike work or are absent, the Special Government Pleader (Education) C Munusamy informed the Madras High Court on Wednesday.
Justice S Vaidyanathan ordered notice to the concerned authorities as well as Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary School PG Teachers Associations and posted the case to April 24 for further hearing. The court was hearing a petition filed by a 12th standard student to ensure that the evaluation of Class 12 examinations was completed as per schedule.
