Apollo Hospitals doctor Sathyabama, who was due to appear, was not present. Sasikala’s counsel was given the right to cross-examine witness who deposed before the commission after a petition from Sasikala requesting the same. The orders were issued on January 30. This was the fourth day of cross-examination of witnesses by Sasikala’s counsel. Raja Senthoor Pandian also added that AIIMS doctors had examined Jayalalithaa during her time in the hospital and said that her heart was functioning well.
The government of Tamil Nadu has reportedly agreed to allow the Arumughasamy Commission to constitute a medical committee to look into the documents that were submitted by the Apollo Hospitals regarding the treatment provided to Jayalalithaa. The Commission had requested the government to form a medical committee to study the documents that were submitted on January 12.
