Vaiko’s kin succumbs to burns

The deceased is the nephew of Vaiko’s wife, Renuka Devi. Suresh had immolated self near the government stadium in Virudhunagar on Friday. 

Just before the incident, he raised slogans in support of three issues. One was for setting up of CMB, second one was to cancel NEET exam and third was to lower the GST rates. Suresh was taken to a private hospital in Madurai, where he was fighting for his life with 80 per cent burn injuries. Vaiko had visited the hospital on Friday afternoon. However, at around 1 pm on Saturday, Suresh died. 

His body was handed over to relatives, following which final rites were performed at his native village of Perumalpatti in Thoothukudi district. DMK working president M K Stalin has condoled Suresh’s death.
